• Worthing & Lancing Cannabis Cafes

Worthing developed a bit of a name for itself as the south-coast's premier Cannabis Cafe location, with a total of three such premises opening in the town.

The first opened in 2002, in a back room of the ‘Bongchuffa’ shop on Rowlands Road and was named ‘The Quantum Leaf’ and there was so much demand that the owner opened a second cafe called ‘Buddies’, but both cafés were subject to continuous police raids and forced to close in 2003.

A third such establishment, operating in a less obvious, but still public manner was also opened near Worthing station and operated for over two years. It was continuously raided and the site of this cafe was reduced to rubble within months of the last raid, resulting in it relocating to Lancing.

These videos show the police raid that resulted in the cafe being named the 'Hole in the Wall Cafe', which was only finally forced to close in 2009.

".....we are not going to tolerate this type of open-air drug dealing."

Well, if you hadn't knocked the place down it wouldn't have been 'open-air'.
